Witchwood – A Bloated Man’s Grotto Home

From Skyrim Nexus Latest Files

Bloated Man’s Grotto is a gorgeous location, situated just between Whiterun and Rorikstead. It’s the perfect spot for my Dragonborn to settle down in and trade with passersby, I thought, and since I couldn’t find another mod of the sort I went and learned how to make one myself. After all that work I decided I didn’t want this to just be a personal mod, so I’m releasing it.

Features:

[*]Compatible with Hearthfire Multiple Adoptions, with room for exactly 2 children and a spouse, and no more. It’s not a large home.

[*]Lorefriendly as possible while still being well-decorated.

[*]Specific storage for letters and documents, books, armor, weapons, soul gems, ingredients, potions, and food.

[*]Both an alchemy corner and an enchanting area. Also an oven.

[*]A functioning shrine to Mara. I find the cure all diseases and +10% healing useful as a restoration mage. I also cleaned up the secret shrine to Talos in the back of the area, as well.

    [*]A small vegetable garden.

Downsides:

[*]You cannot complete the quest Ill Met By Moonlight. That was not a downside for me, as I don’t care about that quest in my playthroughs, but some of you werewolf fans might disagree. I haven’t tested installing this mod after completing the quest, but I don’t think it would be wise (the area is not the same afterwards, and I don’t know how well that would work with the mod).

[*]No showcasing. I’m the kind of person who just dumps all my loot in storage and doesn’t like to display my big collection of rare artifacts and equipment, so this mod reflects that. Also mannequins freak me out.

[*]No forge. This is more a family home for a bookish mage (aka my character) than anything. I actually originally added a whole forge area, but I felt like it ruined the feel of the main clearing. I may add one to a different section of the area in a future update if there’s a lot of interest, though.

[*]Kids won’t play hide-and-seek. I cannot figure out why. The markers are placed, marked and everything, but they won’t go to them. This doesn’t break anything, but it’s still annoying. I’ll update if I figure out how to fix it.

[*]You can fast travel to the house, but not from it. You have to exit the grotto. Again, I don’t know why. I have fast travel enabled in the area, so I’m just as confused as the next person. Another thing I will update if possible.
